President / Founder

My name is Noelle Koo, and I’m a third-year student at the University of Virginia, studying Human Biology, Physics, and Psychology. I graduated from the Loudoun Academy of Science and Riverside High School.

I founded S.E.E.D. in April 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a two-fold vision to both provide engaging, accessible educational support for students in grades K–9 and raise awareness of child hunger through voluntary parent donations. At a time when schools were physically closed and virtual learning was rapidly evolving, S.E.E.D. aimed to bridge gaps in both education and equity.

In the years 2020 to 2023, S.E.E.D. served 450+ students nationwide through free, volunteer-led tutoring, and raised more than $8,000+ in donations for No Kid Hungry, solely through the generosity of parents' donations.

After program development and optimization, S.E.E.D's charter remains two-fold with a key focus:
-
To provide free, high-quality STEM tutoring to students of all backgrounds
-
To advocate for educational equity, ensuring every student has access to the resources they need to succeed

We are proud to be a student-powered initiative, committed to service, inclusion, and academic excellence. We look forward to helping all students as they prepare for a rigorous and fulfilling STEM learning experience.
