What is S.E.E.D.?

S.E.E.D. stands for: Seek, Expand, Explore, and Do. We seek to expand students' knowledge in various STEM fields, and help students explore the world through learning, doing and leading by example and stewardship. S.E.E.D. aims to help plant and nurture personal growth through learning not only about STEM, but also how we can all contribute positively to our community.

S.E.E.D. is a STEM tutoring program comprised of stem-inclined high school and college students passionate about teaching and learning. Tutoring services offered are for students from K to 9th grade. S.E.E.D. tutors provide help to students in math, science, math competitions and informal Academy of Science / Thomas Jefferson High School (STEM magnet schools in Northern Virginia) application preparation (by tutors who attended / are attending these institutions). All tutors have knowledge in math up to at least pre-calculus, and are top students in their respective schools. All tutoring sessions are arranged and held virtually via Zoom.

All tutoring sessions are free of charge.

Please note: S.E.E.D's charter is two fold - Provide free STEM tutoring to ALL students via volunteerism, and also raise awareness for equitable education opportunities for students of all backgrounds and identities.

Since April 2020, 450+ students have enrolled in sessions with S.E.E.D. Tutors!
